Psychiatrist Breaks Down Mental Health Scenes From Movies & TV | GQ
I kind of wish he’d been able to review Aviator and Sherlock
This physiatrist looks like a mix between Matthew McConaughey and the actor who played the Joker himself! 😲
I know this comment is going to get buried but I'm a little disappointed he didn't mention how Arthur does in fact see things that aren't there. Maybe not during the Murray scene but definitely beforehand with his "girlfriend".
25:00 ignore it. bookmarked this for myself.
15:55 that’s not a very good way to word that
Apparently lying a lot means he’s a psycho omg
34:13 eh not the best take, don’t ever start a convo about bipolar with the word manic if you aren’t mentioning bipolar first. you can’t have mania without bipolar. Also, he didn’t clarify the difference between bipolar 1 and 2. Also most mania isn’t as extreme as this movie lmao.
Honestly the Bojack part was wasted potential. As a fan of Bojack and as someone who has BPD, the show is extremely accurate at times in the portrayal of it, why would you focus on a minor character instead of the literal main character, ESPECIALLy cuz there isn’t any BPD representation in media lmao
Can you do bates motel?
Thanks for the information Matt Smith!
He has the body of frankenstein's monster and has the skin and hair of frankenstein.
Wow, this doctor has really nice hands.
maybe i need to get a new psychiatrist
Nobody gonna say this guy looks just like Neil Cicierega? Same hair, chrome glasses, etc? Okay.
He looks like the doctor XD
Miles Teller look alike
Middle aged Tom Holland reviews
But ABA = UGH SHITE
where is travis bickle?
Man needs to watch bo jack horseman
if Tom Holland and Shawn Mendes had a baby
Okay Shawn Mendes, I see you.
This movie's portrayal of the joker ain't of a psychopath but a sociopath
Is it just me or he looks like Squidward beautiful
I really want to see this psychiatrist but i would never be able to afford it
For some reason I thought this guy was Matt Smith.
For anyone who hasn't seen Lars and the real Girl, I definitely suggest it. It was so awesome seeing how that town was accepting his "girlfriend", getting her a job, and having her volunteer. She ended up with a busier schedule than Lars. It was really sweet to see how much everyone clearly cared about him.
He looks like if Tom Holland is Superman.
I have high functioning autism thank you for this!
The thing that bothered me most about this video is the number of camera changes. Did the editor just try to make their job harder? It'll switch angles like 4 times in one sentence. Why? It adds nothing. It just makes editing more difficult. Unless the guy says a ton of filler words and they just cut them out.
Love this video! Such great info about mental health. Also love the advice for talking to a teenager.
looks like the 11th and 10th doctors at the same time
this is educational
what to do when you feel emotionally touched by what he said about the movies?
So to disagree with the Joker assessment, the movie portrayed one person with mental illness going violent and then the entire city follows him. Not to show that mental illness is violent but that the city of Gotham was violence. (You know a fictional place.)
Everyone thinks he looks like a hero, I think he looks like Cillian Murphy’s Scarecrow
Such a cool guy. I want him as my shrink.
The joker was experiencing auditory and visual hallucinations. He imagined being in a relationship with his neighbor.
tw// mentions of suicide I don't exactly believe it was telling us the two are linked. I think it's mainly showing us what could happen, and what DOES happen sometimes if someone who's mentally ill doesn't get the right help and the spiral gets worse. I've experienced days where I feel like my life couldn't possibly be any worse, and yet some people experience that for much longer, to the point where it grows unbearable. It can go two ways; they kill themselves, or they try and find an outlet for their pain.
Please Describe Ratched on Netflix
How do I get psychologized by this man!? I have attachment issues and fall in love too easy 😻
I understand editing, but you guys are literally splicing in single words smh
25:18 to 25:37 on point!
My mother is bipolar I'm bipolar and two of my cousins are bipolar
You don't even know the half of what goes on in our minds..even though I'm mentally ill. bipolar..I know whats socially acceptable to share with "psychiatrists"..I have had many episodes of violent thoughts..thanks to my belief in God I've been able to harness it..
Arthur hallucinated an entire relationship with his neighbor. I'd call that psychosis.
No gonna lie the psychiatrist looks like Superman. In another universe Clark Kent is a psychiatrist and and he’s diagnosing The joker
This is one of the best videos really being honest and true to the DSM type of diagnoses psychiatrists/psychologists can give. Makes me definitely miss my abnormal psychology classes! Wish you touched more on the vast number of adolescent disorders!
Well explained video. A shame that the comment section is still full of ignorant people who think they know better.
17:30 YOO I DID SOMETHING SIMILAR TO THAT
Why is spiderman analysing a DC movie?
Is it just me or does this guy look like Matt smith
This guy put me to sleep, moms tone and boring
Why is he so attractive 😳
I love when the joker pops him in head.
I thought there’s a difference between anxiety and panic attacks
7:34 “he’s not having delusions” Clearly you’ve not seen the movie. He thinks his neighbor is his girlfriend.
I’ve been getting them since I started working in my basement and governments reaction to covid was been freaking me out so I figured out if I drink between 16-40oz of water I get over it real quick. Next time you have a panic attack try chugging water, it always helps me.
Very great video on mental health
Brilliant! I am writing a paper over the representation of mental illness in film right now so it's very interesting and helpful to see this sort of breakdown.
my stomach would hurt everyday before school in high school because i had social anxiety still somewhat do. but that was a big reason i dropped out and had no friends for a long time and it makes it really hard when you grow up and dont know how to deal with different situations.
that bojack horseman clip actually made me anxious too
Just throwing this out i was having the worst day and this for some reason really grounded me so thank you GQ
The wheel of Emotions: Anger, sadness, joy, fear, melancholy, nervousness, pain, pleasure, weakness, strength, confusion, fatigue. Some temporary or situational (nonpharm, Coping skills) Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, while others are more pathophysiology (pharm. and coping skills) a little education goes a long way.
Most legit psychiatrist ever xD great video!
Hey look, it’s The Doctor.
But where's his sonic screwdriver and TARDIS? Geronimooooooooooo!
8:12 that's not his real mom
This was a really good segment. The Doctor was very informative and relatable. I really enjoyed this.
Psychiatrits are just people who have their own issues and want to learn more about their mind
A doctor who looks like The Doctor. ☺️ #MattSmith.
It would've been great to hear his take on Split.
This is the first episode they dont replace the background. Keeping the green screen paper. Why ? Because this guy came with CHROME glasses xD The greenscreen effect would have also taken the glasses in consideration. A nightmare to fix frame by frame. ---> Im out. Hi editors
Peter Parker really did well in School XD
Smart and beautiful, could you ever...
I know a guy with autism, you can give him any date and he can instantly tell you exactly what day of the week that date landed on. We always checked and he’s always right it’s amazing.
He just said that that is a rare thing with autism and lowkey is stereotyped, it is a thing but not hella common (being good with numbers)
I got to keep repeating to myself, "He's NOT Matt Smith! He's NOT Matt Smith!" the entire time I'm watching this. Because (spoiler alert!): He's not actually Matt Smith :P
Narcissists don't have empathy they have empathy they just don't acknowledge it
I wish they include Big Fish and Good Will Hunting.
Need an update on a guest clown breaking down other parts of this movie.
Mans looks like the 12th doctor
Mr Bender be stating some mind bending facts.
This man looks like an older version of Matt Smith, and I'm in love.
Look at those broad powerful shoulders
Matt Smith is a lot hotter than I remember
He looks like hes about say "I'M STILL NOT GINGER!!".
This dude is so chill and he’s very good at explaining
I feel like his ride to this shoot was the tardis
Golden content for self development
Ironically, Harley Quinn was Joker's psychiatrist that was attracted to him, meanwhile I'm attracted to this psychiatrist
DUUUDDDEEE
He's mighty fine
@Chris the Zambambo thank-you..
@Tigger campbell We all make mistakes friend
@Chris the Zambambo ohh my bad..you said you were attracted to the psychiatrist..ohhh ..Harley Quinn.. lol
When he first introduced himself, he forgot to mention that he is also an equine psychologist
Next thing you know there'l be a fire fighter reacting and explaining to a fire being extuinguish and a souldier -^-
There was a lawyer youtuber wjo explained the laws and there was a doctor who explained medical stuff and reacted now there a therapy youtuber reacting to the mental moments movies or series..
He botoxed his whole face 😮
He's the most Chad psychiatrist i've ever seen
He needs to switch his specialty to plastic surgery/dermatology. His face looks like an artist made it.
More of Henry Cavill x Matt Smith!
Joker is its own mental health. quite literally. it should. be
Clark Kent became a Psychiatrist. Respect for that. Serious.
How old is he
I have fairly to moderate to high anxiety Does that mean I have a mental illness I am only 12 so I am still learning how to del with and about mental issues
